The "If I Were God..." week - views from the team

Perhaps the most challenging aspect of the week was giving seminars in Latimer School. Some of the classes were happy to accept Euthanasia as being wrong but it was the more difficult classes, which weren't ready simply to accept what we had to say which generated much better discussions. These would often start from a thorny concept such as the presence of suffering in the world, and led on to all sorts of topics and many different aspects of the Gospel.

Obviously God will determine what happens next. But my prayer is that a Christian meeting would start in the school, and I hope that the openness of the discussions about Jesus and Christian truths (which involved quite a few teachers!) will encourage some of the kids to go along to a meeting, and discuss the issues with their Christian friends.
