The "If I Were God..." week - views from the team

"Jesus won't accept me because I am blonde and wear pink lipstick"

This was one of the lines from the talk that Jen gave at the women's lunch on the Saturday, and was something that struck me when I first heard it and has stuck with me ever since. Jen was talking about how we need to be changed on the inside rather than on our outward appearance, what we wear isn't going to get us to heaven but rather it is how our heart is toward God that matters. This is a message that all of us need to hear again and again in this materialistic world in which we live.

The Ladies lunch was great and a privilege to be at: to see people enthusiastic about the gospel and wanting to bring their friends along was brilliant, and although I personally did not have any conversations with the non-Christians there, from the reports that I have heard a number did have fruitful chats afterwards. I pray that those who were there will consider, maybe for the first time, the Christian faith.

The women's lunch rounded off (well almost!) what was an amazing week, there is nothing like telling others about the gospel for you to get your own priorities right again. The week was one full of great learning experiences, amazing hospitality and many challenges. It is a week that I personally will not forget for quite a while to come.
