The "If I Were God..." week - Pizza Party in Warkton

Pizza Party in Warkton
It was all planned: the Village Hall was booked: the menu would be simple - just some salads and cold drinks to accompany the pizzas, followed by coffee after David's talk to allow time for conversations; the pizzas were ordered and to be delivered at 8pm; and, oh yes, much prayer had been offered, believing God would answer. He did …..

About forty people turned up at 8pm, but where are the pizzas? A call made on a mobile phone confirmed our worst fears; the pizza company thought that the order was for two days hence, but we could have them in 35-45 minutes' time! We hastily re-arranged the plans; David was happy to present his talk first, whilst all the guests were served with the cold drinks and some hot potato wedges which had miraculously appeared.

Everyone listened attentively as David presented the gospel clearly, in language which could be easily understood by those who rarely, if ever, come to church. Just as he was finishing, the first of the pizzas arrived, freshly cooked and piping hot. Everyone tucked in and there was plenty of time, in fact more, for those conversations. God does answer prayer and is in control! Please now pray with us for lasting fruit.

'Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine, according to the power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations..' Eph.3:20-21
