Grilled Christian for Tea!
We were all a little nervous of our "Grill a Christian" evening with a member
of the mission team. However the very pleasant and friendly young man who came
to visit us in our homegroup was James Packman and within a very short time
we all felt completely at ease and relaxed in his company. We didn't begin our
evening with any formal opening, we just started chatting naturally with him
and asking him to tell us a little about himself. This just seemed to lead on
without any other prompting to people in our homegroup asking questions which
needed some quite in depth answers. James never hesitated and dived straight
in at the deep end without wriggling out of difficult topics. He gave thoughtful,
sensitive and definitely illuminating answers which in no uncertain terms helped
us a little further along the road of our faith. He was a real inspiration to
us and we felt so encouraged by his strong faith and his ability to make us
all feel very valued and part of such a wonderful Christian fellowship.
Our two visitors participated eagerly in the questions and ensuing discussions and the lively chat was carried on whilst enjoying a wonderful selection of home made cake which all the homegroup contributed to go with the coffee.
The evening was, for us, a definite highlight of the whole mission week and certainly, for one of our members a huge step forward in the Christian life. So we extend our grateful thanks to James for his much appreciated time shared with us.
